IMPROVED FOR EVEN A BETTER BASEBALL EXPERIENCE

The goal of Arlington Babe Ruth was to create a program that would enhance the development and overall baseball experience of our 14 year-old players during this crucial period, as they continue to work on their recently learned skills.  Our intention is to offer dedicated players an enjoyable experience where they could improve upon a wide range of baseball skills and knowledge.  In developing the overall program, we took into consideration that some players participate in additional sports during the winter months but still wanted to keep working on their baseball skills and conditioning.  We were also conscious that cost was an issue to many families.  We think that we have created that perfect mix.

Tired of those expensive AAU programs telling YOU what and when to do something? The Arlington Selects program is the perfect alternative to those AAU programs, while reducing the conflicts and stress on parents and players.

THE SELECTS OFFER IT ALL:

  • Arlington based training facility with plenty of space and easy access
  • Weekly winter baseball workouts run by Route2 Baseball professional trainers
  • Weekly winter speed, power and agility training run by professional trainers
  • Scheduled season practices that will not conflict with the local baseball program
  • Seasonal contacts for additional training at our negotiated price (extra cost)
  • Select designed apparel to proudly show off your team
  • Competitive EBL (Elite Baseball League) schedule to ensure quality play
  • Reduced  game conflicts, as the coaches are under the control/guidance of Arlington Babe Ruth rules and regulations
  • Arlington home fields with Arlington players
  • Competitively priced against other AAU programs

Babe Ruth Life Cycle

Babe Ruth Life Cycle
For the players, coaches, and managers, it generally starts at the Fall tryout.  Many players may get a taste of the “big diamond” from the "fallball " or "summerball" programs and the managers start the assessment process for the following year. The winter months settle in and the manager notes are put aside. There may be winter clinics to attend to work off that winter rust. In March, spring is not that far away and Babe Ruth has another tryout, so kids can once again showcase their skills to the managers and coaches of the current 10 teams. The kids then nervously wait to see which team they will be on with a new season about to begin. As managers and coaches, we evaluate all the players to ensure that we are placing the players at the appropriate levels. Some move into the "A" level called the seniors, while others play in the "B" level called intermediates. The kids are drafted to an affiliate (one senior and one intermediate team) and continue to work together until the final decision on which players will play in the "A" and which players will play in the "B" division. Then the season begins and before too long, the season is nearing an end. Another year passes and kids graduate and the rookies move up a notch to veteran status. The managers and coaches are all volunteers who all work to ensure that the over 130 players have a positive Babe Ruth experience.
